I am not sure if this is a poem or something else. Anyway, here it is. As for a clue, it is a simple theme and situation.
“Haley”
A cry, a distant call from a different time
While waiting, just a line, nothing more
It does not take much after all
A look that’s redeeming, smile beaming
Just a simple line, and here my cure
A scent of the tragic and fine, for sure
For this time I am falling, like I fell
And no one can tell, now or then
There you go, assuredly so
As if I really did, up and go
Nothing now in my gaze
Clear dark nights of other days
For who can transform time?
Not here, but we wish for him still
And still it was, on outside looking in
In mind everything was swirling
The very air was hurling
When there were yet minutes, time to know
The silly whispers were meant to show
Youthful dreaming could materialize
Love, but of the almost purest kind
Wrested from your born sublime,
To a woman’s touch, more than friends
When the world and its secrets could not end
Of another night, lonely longing despaired
And instead of that, all my days had prepared
For an up-close conversation, longed-for invitation
Yet here I go, probably spoiled again
Second chances to hold and endear
But the seconds passed and back to holding
Steady with all around looking, wondering
What in the world is happening here
How can a man’s spirit disappear?
With his body closed and silent lamenting
For Haley, who only ever felt like this
As I inched closer to heaven-ness
An offer given and missed
Makes me tremble from my brow
Nothing left but shuddering now
Snapped back, with nothing to show
But wet memories from tears below
For Haley, a whisp of a girl
I left wanting standing still
Clear nights like never rearranged
Never recovered, I am forever estranged
For an angel who offered so much
Why I was stupid then like now
The line is moving, now much doing
Back to our stations, back to our plows
Looks like poetry to me! Hauntingly beautiful
I would say it's definitely a poem
