Filmmakers recently have focused so much attention on origin stories of established characters. Batman, Joker, and Wolverine come to mind, and there are many more that presently escape my memory. Heroes and villains face some kind of adversity before they emerge in complete form.
Bruce Wayne suffered the murder of his parents. Only afterwards did he create Batman with his life goal to secure justice and protect the weak.
We must love something about these movies that reveal how someone or some situation came to exist as we know it.
Maybe that is human nature. I believe origin stories are part of our natural curiosity to seek explanations of the unknown. Humans are like that. We chase answers to mysteries.
