I absolutely agree. When I look at pop music, movies, our lives are being copied, just better performed by actors. But when I look at knowledge, it is placed within a certain accepted framework, and that knowledge replaces what has been experienced. Then they repeat worldwide what is within the accepted framework, and there they repeat the experiencers.

Copying mechanisms are everywhere. I think there are few independent thinkers, rather there are imitations, and this is the trend. Although Homo sapiens is capable of thinking, not just imitating.

The trend hinders independent thinking.

"There’s an endless debate about what one should seek in life."

Yup. Honestly, I don’t think we ever fully figure it out—it’s a constant journey of seeking, evolving, and exploring.

I think the only figuring is by the individual who must answer what matters. You are right, there will never be a final answer of what we should pursue. Most people try to have it all, I think, and fail. Thanks for reading.

"I have figured out why, but that must be explained". I am much the same. My personal answer is autism. I await finding out yours on another day!

I’m very glad to “meet” you. I never feel

that confident others know what I mean when I write things. I think our reasons have something in common. Some people think I’m on the autism spectrum, but I don’t know. Thanks very much for reading.

Often I look at my work the next day with fresh eyes to be more objective about whether I’ve written it in such a way that other people can follow it. I try to pack in too much and wander off in different directions in my first draft. So the next step is to make sure I have a coherent story. My other obstacle to clear writing is long sentences - which make understanding a little bit harder, ie the reader has to put in more concentration. For readers skimming through for quick meaning, that’s an obstacle. But on the other hand, writers are not obliged to write for the skimmers. Some of us are writing for those who are happy to scratch their heads and read something twice.

“Really, a family can make any occasion a reason to disperse pictures that represent a bond” - love this - and it’s so true!

I don’t follow trends, I tend to go off things when I see others are into them too.

I follow with interest the early adopters, but I tend to buy in after that initial crest. That is, my heart is with the trendsetters, but my mind holds me back until the infrastructure is in place.

And some trends I stay away from entirely.

So I mime, but when it appeals.

I hear you on the Christmas card issue. That would be a stark reminder of one’s choices in life.

Thanks Nick. We all mime probably to some degree. I did not have many choices in the matter until later in life, but now I can be as cantankerous as I want. And so glad you got what I was trying to say about Christmas cards as a symbol.
