It’s hard to get a teen to realize how atypical their life experience is compared to what it will become. High school can be so judgmental and vicious, and adult life is often much less so. But as you say, some work places retain that high school toxicity.

In my opinion, adults are more socialized and thus no how to appear more acceptable most of the time. I tend to think what we see everyday is not a true representation of people and things.
My experience has been different, so while I know what you mean, as an adult I’ve seen far less judgmental thinking. Oh, they may think it, but it’s not top of mind anymore.
