Thank you, I am so grateful when anyone can feel something I wrote. Yes, I agree that it’s hard to reveal ourselves to someone else. We tend to protect certain things from fear of how it will be evaluated.
Strawbridge, you are Mr. Keating to us readers of your pieces. I would posit that you were discouraged from your drawings not from perfectionism, an enemy, but from comparison, the ultimate enemy to self. Moreover, the main reason our family, friends and acquaintances do not seek to supply our chair, is because we, generally, do not reveal our chair. Thoughts?
Thanks so much. Comparison, ah yes, you are probably right. That is such a great insight. I think it must be perfectionism and comparison. I think most of us try to reveal that special thing a few times, usually in a sloppy way. We do not know how and are afraid. We are afraid that our chairs might be a little silly and not worth knowing. Of course, I think we are also afraid for someone to know us and get close. I believe most of us are emotionally stunted and not open to real communication.
Thanks so much for reading. Well this little saying from the movie stuck with me. I have never forgotten it. I think it is neat how just a few words can influence us. Usually, for me, it is unexpected. If you see the movie, it will also make more sense. People were not paying attention to her chairs, and then he did.
one of the best lines I ever heard delivered by an actress or actor... Jean Stapleton said "he'll be down directly" when they were looking for Travoltas' character
Imagine putting all your energy in pretending your chairs aren't chairs at all. A nothing to see here mindset...I think it's time for a change. Time to see my wobbly 3 legged stool for what it is.
Such a powerful point! Many of us struggle to understand or express what truly matters to us.

You've given me a greater appreciation for chairs. I'd always thought of them in terms of comfort and fitting into the design of a room.
Hello C, Lee,
Thanks so much for reading. Well this little saying from the movie stuck with me. I have never forgotten it. I think it is neat how just a few words can influence us. Usually, for me, it is unexpected. If you see the movie, it will also make more sense. People were not paying attention to her chairs, and then he did.
So relatable! Thanks you for sharing. So much on here touched my heart.
I am so glad. This is what I seek to do. Thanks for reading.

Isn't that the movie where Travolta is an angel? Regardless, thank you reading.
