Yay for you Strawbridge. I have never worn any hat backward. I am with you buddy. And I am not kidding.

Benn, you are too classy to be a backward-hatter. I am glad you are with me on this. Thanks for reading.

My husband and son are "forward hatters" - it must be genetic

Please send them my warm regards as progressive minded, forward-thinking, role models for the youth today.

I tried to restack one of your quotes, but the app wouldn't let me, and as an occasional backward hattist, I think you're being a little too hard on us. Some people just dont like the brim shading everything. The Little Rascals had a backward hat wearer, I forgot the characters name, but people say I look like him when I wear the hat. IDK...it's hard to drive with a backwards hat, the brim of the cap makes contact with the car seat headrest. Otherwise I agree with your observations.

Well it’s possible I am being too harsh. I don’t think backward hatters are evil or anything. I am glad you left your comments here, because no one has to agree with me. I can have some odd takes on things.

I'll tell you the truth wearing a hat backwards is a little liberating

Really? Well I didn’t know. I am not a hatter at all.

I never thought about this before. 🤔 . Now, I'll have to do a little study, and ask the backward hat people their rational for doing so. I always thought it was to either keep the hair or sweat out of their eyes while having increased lighting. 🌞

Thanks for offering your thoughts. Although, I do not suggest approaching a backward-hatter. These excuses are what they say to recruits to make backward-hattery seem less offensive.

I’m glad to report that at least one fellow Substacker believes that I am a hero. Thank you, Strawbridge for this lighthearted piece (and your vote of confidence). 🧢

Speaking of habits…twisting a toothpick with the tongue is an accompanying behavior of those hats face the direction they’re not going. Best wishes on your lecture series…don’t forget to wear head gear that doesn’t crumple from the barrage of sucked on toothpicks thrown by your identified “target group” in your high school audience. Remember to “forgive them for they know not what they do”

I love your comments. I think this issue is something you should take up, the toothpicks, and run with it. I can feel your passion for it. As for me, I feel backward-hattism is enough to occupy my humanitarian efforts. Myself and all the former backward-hatters will walk hand-in-hand onstage and recite the Forward-Hat Creed. Me and my associates believe in forgiveness but only after the offenders stay at least one week at the "The Right Direction Reeducation Camp" that will be held in locations across the states.

Have you read my Let the Violins play? Like your insight!

Not until you mentioned it. Very good story. I like how you build a story around something so simple. Let the violins play is a neat way to express something. I write about nostalgia quite a bit.
